What is an Oral Bible?

An Oral Bible is a recorded collection of carefully selected chronological Bible stories. They are shared naturally in an unreached people group's heart language for use in evangelism, discipleship and leadership training. The initial evangelism collection of stories of the Oral Bible takes two years to produce and record.

Why start with an Oral Bible?

When a written translation of the Bible does become available, studies show that over two-thirds of the speakers of these languages can't or won't read it because they are oral learners. To really hear the gospel in an understandable way before they die, oral learners must hear the stories of the Oral Bible shared naturally in their own heart language. The production and distribution of an Oral Bible will establish a starting point from which many partners can join a collaborative, evangelistic effort. This effort will eventually include an expanded Oral Bible story set for discipleship and pastor training, compassion ministry, translation projects for written Bibles and The JESUS Film, and literacy training. The ultimate goal is an indigenously led church planting movement in every people group that presently has little or no access to the Gospel.
