Serve

Pastor Paul Marr smiled as he reminisced over coffee with his friend across the table, Pastor David Ripley. It all started in this very coffee shop a few years earlier as they shared with each other their burden for people who had little or no access to the gospel.

Paul remembered telling David, "Did you know that the 'Nomad' people of North Africa had never heard the gospel in a language they understood because they don't have the JESUS film, written Scripture, or even a written alphabet?" Paul remembered his shock when David shot back, "Well, did you know that the 'Gonos' people group of south Asia, like lots of people groups, has had written Scripture and the JESUS film in their own language for years, but they are still unreached because they are oral learners."

Oral learning is a huge barrier to completing the Great Commission. The only way to reach oral learners is to turn their oral learning into a positive by sharing the gospel with them through chronological, evangelistic Bible stories in their own language.

StoryRunners helped both churches personalize their efforts so that everyone in the church could get involved. Now, church members are praying, going on short-term mission trips, and giving. Nomads and Gonos peoples are following Christ because they heard and believed the Bible stories that were spreading like wildfire through their villages. They were even singing their own worship songs based on the Bible stories.

Whether you volunteer in your community or at StoryRunners headquarters, go on a two-week trip to assist a Quest team in the field or go to the most out-of-the-way places on Earth on a two-year Quest, you don’t need any previous experience to make a difference. All you need is a willing heart and an adventurous spirit.
