Women Reaching Women by Telling the Stories of God

Our Purpose

Our desire is to rescue, restore, and transform women's lives through the power of the oral gospel. The best way to reach women is to clearly communicate the gospel in a fashion that speaks to the heart and does not provoke defensiveness-- exactly what Chronological Bible Storying does so effectively.

Our Challenge

Adverse poverty, diseased, shamed, and terrified. These are the conditions of millions of women in the unreached people groups we work in. War, disease, human traffiking and cultural taboos separating men from women, keep them from hearing the Gospel. Current evangelism and church planting strategies are not connecting effectively with the women. In many areas of the world where the men are coming to Christ, the women are not being reached. This is especially critical in places like Sudan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Kashmir, etc., where war and conflict have left countless widows and orphans. Many women find themselves in prisons of despair.

Our Solution

Christ's love and forgiveness can penetrate even the deepest emotional prisons and meet a woman's deepest needs. By taking the oral Bible stories to the women, we are seeing them freed of their bondage, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When the oral Bible stories are shared they often embrace and internalize them and eagerly go and share them with others.

As influencers of the home, through women, the gospel can flow through nomadic tents, thatched huts, and into the ears of children and youth who otherwise are completely cut off from hearing God's Word. Women strongly influence the emerging worldviews of future generations and shape their lives and beliefs.

Training women in the stories of the Bible empower them to not only reach other women but influence their homes, families, and communities for Jesus Christ.

How can StoryRunners touch the hearts and lives of women throughout the world? What is our plan? We develop Bible story sets that are worldview-sensitive and culturally relevant, and we incorporate into them important stories about God's heart and love for women.

We teach small teams of female nationals and, sometimes expatriate women, to develop story sets on site and to share them in small groups of women and children.

Partnering with existing ministries and agencies already helping women through vocational training, health care, parenting training, etc., is very important to us. We will actively seek partnerships with on-site vocational and humanitarian agencies willing to include storying and discipleship in their strategies.

Our Dreams

We dream of reaching women around the globe through methods that value their heart language, culture, learning styles and unique challenges.

We dream for these women to reach other women and disciple them so that church planting movements will flow freely among every people group-- male and female.

We dream of helping women see that God's unique heart and purpose for them has existed before the beginning of time.

John 4:25-26 “The woman said, ‘I don’t know about that, I do know that the Messiah is coming. When He arrives, we’ll get the whole story.’ Jesus said, ‘I am He. You don’t have to wait any longer or look any farther.’”

Ask that these precious women will be able to receive the Truth—what God says about them.
Ask that their identity will be in Christ and His love for them.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal unique ways and methods to reach these women with the gospel and also minister to their physical and emotional needs.
