History
In 2003, a small pioneering effort was started by Campus Crusade for Christ and staff members of the JESUS Film Project. This new mission focused on unreached people groups. The idea for StoryRunners was to get beyond traditional barriers to the gospel and give people groups an anchor in God's word to plant and grow their own churches.
The new StoryRunners team set out to re-invent missions by learning all they could about orality, Chronological Bible Storying, translation, church planting movements, media distribution and other mission best practices.
Then they spent years inventing, testing and refining new mission models based on the new knowledge and past experience. In the process, StoryRunners helped start other movements such as the International Orality Network (ION), OneStory and Finishing the Task. Each year, the staff continued to grow and the number of projects grew even faster. But more importantly, people were hearing the gospel and people groups were finally getting God's word in their languages. The new approaches worked.
Then in 2008, StoryRunners launched the Story Bible Strategy that is now ready to scale up to reach every last people group. The strategy is transferrable so that you or your church or organization can make it your own. The training was designed in an oral format to keep it as reproducible as possible, and even illiterate national believers can be successful with this strategy.
Today, StoryRunners is training other organizations and church denominations (in multiple languages) to use Story Bibles, and our own projects continue to multiply. Contact us to learn how you can have an impact with Story Bibles.
