Mission, Vision and Values
Mission
StoryRunners exists to prepare national workers for effective ministry through Story Bible strategies and partnerships that result in multiplying churches.
Vision
To ensure every unreached people group has access to the gospel in their own language.
StoryRunners seeks to spark storying movements among all unreached people groups.
Values
-
Unreached People Groups
We focus on the most unreached, remote and neglected populations.
-
Heart Language
The gospel should be presented in a people's heart language, the language they speak privately at home. StoryRunners sometimes works in a trade language as a stepping stone to the heart language.
-
Communicate in Their Style
If two-thirds of the world's population is comprised of oral communicators, and the vast majority of unreached people groups are oral, then we should present the gospel in an oral communication style that everyone can understand. The Story Bible is the best way we know to reach oral people.
-
Partnership
Most of our projects are partnerships with churches, individuals and other mission organizations. We believe that none of us can fulfill the Great Commission alone.
-
National Movements
Nationals should own the mission and the strategies themselves because they often do a better job at reaching their own countrymen than expatriate missionaries. Equipping national missionaries is also much more cost-effective.
-
Neglected Segments of Society
Along with unreached people groups, we give special attention to neglected groups like the deaf, women, HIV/AIDS, refugees, the hungry and impoverished.
-
Sending Churches
The church is God's primary instrument for carrying out the great commission, and local congregations should be in the driver's seat of missions. StoryRunners is a vehicle for churches to be effective witnesses to unreached people groups.
-
Church Planting
There are many forms of ministry, but we value strategies that lead to planting churches which are able to reproduce more churches. They are often in the form of small groups and house churches.
-
Worldview and Culture
StoryRunners addresses specific culture and worldview issues for each people group we work with. The biblical worldview presented in stories greatly reduces syncretism.
-
Indigenous Worship
We teach churches to worship God in their own indigenous art forms, not our own cultural forms.
-
Biblical Accuracy
The stories we tell are true to God's Word, the Bible, and they are tested and recorded to help preserve accuracy and integrity.
